Khashayar Movahedian, born on February 21, 1978, in the Iranian city of Isfahan, is one of the most prominent film editors, sound designers, and assistant editors in Iranian cinema and television.

With a career spanning over two decades, Movahedian has played a pivotal role in shaping the visual and narrative rhythm of many beloved Iranian TV series and films.

His editing skills have contributed to a wide range of successful projects, many of which have been broadcast internationally via iFilm English TV, including popular series like ‘Sweet and Sour’, ‘Right on Time’, ‘Michael’, ‘The Grand Prize’, ‘Like a Mother’, ‘Injury’, ‘Madineh’, ‘Kimia’, and the acclaimed film ‘Little Black Fish’.

Movahedian began his professional journey in 1997, working as an editor for the TV series ‘The Eternal Train’, co-directed by Reza Attaran and Behrouz Baqaee. While the project didn't receive significant acclaim compared to his later works, it served as a crucial learning experience, allowing him to collaborate with actors such as Nematollah Gorji, Hamideh Kheirabadi, Mehraneh Mahintorabi, and Farhad Ayeesh.

His work on Hamid Nematollah's ‘Heavy Makeup’ even earned him a nomination for best film editing at the 32nd Fajr International Film Festival, one of Iran’s most prestigious cinematic events.

While Movahedian is primarily recognized as an editor, his expertise extends beyond that role. He has also worked as a sound designer and assistant editor on various projects. His contributions as a sound designer can be seen in iconic TV series like ‘Injury’, ‘Right on Time’, and ‘I Am a Tenant’.

In the role of assistant editor, he supported major projects like ‘Reyhaneh’ and ‘Young Police’, showing his comprehensive knowledge of the production process.
Interestingly, Movahedian shares a familial connection with Soroush Sehat, an Iranian director, screenwriter, and actor. In an interview, Movahedian revealed that he and Sehat share the same mother but have different fathers, which explains their physical resemblance.

Over the years, Khashayar Movahedian has built a portfolio consisting of 33 projects, of which 24 are television series and 9 are films. This ratio reflects his deep-rooted impact on Iranian television, where his editing has significantly influenced the pacing, mood, and emotional depth of some of Iran's most-watched TV series.
